There has been a lot of talk this year about the Confederate flag , but the flag has remained a source of controversy in American politics for decades.
Many, like South Carolina’s Republican Gov. Nikki Haley, say the Confederate flag is “a way to honor ancestors who came to the service of their state during the time of conflict. That is not hate, nor is it racism.” However, as Vox recently reported “The history, though, is clear: from the Civil War through the civil rights movement, the flag has always been about white supremacy. The only thing that has changed is how the rest of the country sees the cause it represents.”
The ever insightful John Fugelsang talks about the Confederate flag versus America in this classic Caffeinated clip from 2012 and his words are every bit as relevant today as they were back then… maybe more so.
