Bernie Sanders Closing In Fast On Hillary In Iowa, Leading In New Hampshire – VIDEO

Cllinton-Sanders

More good news this week for Bernie Sanders, who is already beating Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire. He is rapidly gaining ground on her in Iowa as well.

Salon reports that: “For the first time in the 2016 cycle, a new poll of likely Iowa caucus goers shows Bernie Sanders within single digits of Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton in the Hawkeye State — a stunning result that, if corroborated by other surveys, would upend the conventional wisdom about Clinton’s inevitability.

A Bloomberg Politics/Des Moines Register survey, conducted from August 23-26, shows a steep decline in Clinton’s support among Iowa Democrats.  Bernie Sanders is a mere 7 points away from Hillary Clinton, according to a Bloomberg Politics/ Des Moines Register survey, conducted from August 23-26. Looking back at his polling numbers from May Bloomberg/DMR poll, it’s obvious that Sanders is a force to be reckoned with in this race.

Salon adds that while the results of that May poll showed Clinton led Sanders by a margin of 57 percent to 16 percent with Vice President at 8 percent, “Now, Clinton leads Sanders by just seven points, 37 percent to 30 percent, with Biden in third place at 14 percent. No other candidate registers more than 3 percent support.”

Ana Kasparian (The Point), John Iadarola (Think Tank), and Jimmy Dore (The Jimmy Dore Show Podcast), hosts of the The Young Turks, break down what this means for Hillary Clinton and what the media needs to acknowledge by these numbers.

“Bernie Sanders is winning them over, it’s not anti-Hillary votes. 96% of them said that they’re for Bernie Sanders based on his ideas, it’s not a vote against Hillary,” Dore explains.

But Iadarola brings up a point that most media people miss, “You also have Biden going from 8 to 14 percent support. Now, it’s entirely possible that’s 14 points higher than he should actually have since he’s not actually running right now.” Iadarola adds, “His support comes almost from Hillary Clinton, which means that’s 6 points she probably would have if they hadn’t included him…” If Biden wasn’t included, it’s possible that Clinton’s lead is greater than 7 points.

Kasparian argues that Democrats will support Clinton, no matter what, because she represents, “[A] strong, Democratic candidate.” The problem is, they don’t look at her policies. Kasparian adds, “Bernie Sanders is a much better representative of progressive ideals, policies…”
