National Nurses United, the largest nurses union in the country, announced today that they will march and rally for Bernie Sanders outside of Tuesday’s Democratic debate in Las Vegas.

The organization is promising a “colorful march and rally” starting at the nearby Treasure Island Hotel and ending at the debate site as the Wynn Las Vegas.

National Nurses United emphasized in their announcement their “concurrence with Sanders on key issues which nurses, and Sanders, have advocated for years—including guaranteed healthcare for all; reversing inequality, poverty and hunger; robust action on the climate crisis; taxing Wall Street speculation to fund good paying jobs and education; and many others.”

“It’s the same issues that animate nurses when we talk about voting for nurses’ values—caring, compassion, and community to heal America,” said National Nurses Unite Executive Director RoseAnn DeMoro, who will be in Las Vegas for the debate and march.

“What they have in common is that he means what he says, and what he does reflects the yearning for change among diverse social movements. What Bernie’s campaign represents is an opportunity to not just speak truth to power, but to join movements together to change our country,” DeMoro added.

National Nurses United, which became the first national union to endorse Sanders, will also be “hosting or participating in debate watch parties around the country, including in Las Vegas.”
