This highly anticipated Christmas ad helps kick-start the festive season. Featuring a ‘man on the moon,’ it might just make you cry!
John Lewis, the upscale British department store chain, have outdone themselves this year with their highly anticipated Christmas advertisement.
First opened in 1864 in Oxford Street, London, since 2007 John Lewis has become known for producing memorable Christmas television advertisements, which have gained heavy exposure on social media, becoming an international event. Some of the more noteworthy campaigns over the years include: The Bear and the Hare, Monty’s Christmas and this year’s Man on the Moon.
As John Lewis notes on their website: “Our Christmas advert this year tells the story of a young girl called Lily. Looking at the moon through the family telescope one night, she’s amazed at what she finds… a man on the moon.”
Lily watches as he goes about his chores, all alone up there. She becomes determined to get something to the moon, to send him a message and show him that someone down here is thinking of him. #ManOnTheMoon
The music is ‘Half the World Away’ performed by Aurora, the original song was by Oasis.
