The Truth, And Lies, Behind The 2016 Presidential Campaign Revealed By Politifact’s ‘Truth-O-Meter’
Here’s a wake-up call for all those who think there is no difference between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
Pulitzer Prize winner PolitiFact “fact-checked Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton nearly 400 times combined since they announced their candidacies for president,” publishing 515 combined Truth-O-Meter scorecards for the two candidates.
Each candidate was rated using 6 levels of rating, with 3 on the truthful side of the spectrum and 3 on the false side.
Looking only at the top 2 ratings, Clinton told the truth over 300 percent of the number of times Trump did – with a total of 128 statements rated as True or Mostly True, compared to Trump’s total of only 40.
When it comes to the bottom 2 ratings, Trump lied over 400 percent more of the time than Clinton, with a staggering 137 statements rated as False or Pants on Fire, and with Clinton only receiving a total of only 33.
