Megyn Kelly Leaving Fox News

Multiple media outlets are reporting the Megyn Kelly is leaving Fox News.

The New York Times reports that Megyn Kelly is leaving Fox News and joining NBC.

Megyn Kelly, who arrived at Fox News 12 years ago as a television news neophyte but rose to become one of its two biggest stars, has decided to leave the network to take on a broad new role at NBC News for an undisclosed amount, people briefed on the negotiations said on Tuesday.

Yahoo News reports that NBC has released a statement confirming the contract.

According to a statement from NBC, Kelly inked an unspecified “multiyear contract,” and will anchor an NBC News program Sunday evening, host an hour-long daily daytime news talk-show, and become a mainstay in special political news events.

“Megyn is an exceptional journalist and news anchor, who has had an extraordinary career,” NBC Universal Chairman News Group chair Andrew Lack said in a statement. “She’s demonstrated tremendous skill and poise, and we’re lucky to have her.”

The Seattle Times reports that “The move was confirmed by Kelly’s publicist, Leslee Dart.”

The Seattle Times adds that:

In the past two years, Kelly has weathered personal attacks from Donald Trump during his presidential campaign, and last summer she played a behind-the-scenes role in the ouster of Fox News founder Roger Ailes after multiple accusations of sexual harassment.

According to The New York Times,

Ms. Kelly’s departure would upend Fox News’s vaunted prime-time lineup and inject a new dose of tumult just a few months after the departure of the network’s powerful founding chairman, Roger Ailes, who was ousted after several women made allegations that he sexually harassed them.
