Breitbart Lashes Out At Paul Ryan

Right-wing website Breitbart escalates its war against House Speaker Paul Ryan amid intense debate over Trumpcare.

Debate over healthcare reform intensifies in the wake of the release of the Republican replacement plan for Obamacare – known as Trumpcare – and Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) is taking heat from all sides.

Last week Fox News host Tucker Carlson lashed out at Ryan over the chaos surrounding the release of the plan. “It’s been seven years to the month since Obamacare passed, and I guess the obvious question is why in all that time couldn’t Republicans formulate a plan most of them could agree on before going public with it?” Carlson said, adding “It looks like chaos, why is that?”

Conservative radio host Dana Loesch had plenty to say about Trumpcare, telling Fox host Shannon Bream “I think it’s an insult. It’s an insult to the American people and it’s an insult to the Trump administration for Republicans, Congressional Republicans to deliver this bill to his desk.”

“This is a swamp monster. If people are going to talk about draining the swamp, this is literally the creature from the black lagoon, this Obamacare 2.0 bill,” she continued adding that “it’s a giant middle finger to America, it’s a giant middle finger to the Trump administration.”

Yesterday conservative website Breitbart published an audio recording from last October of Ryan saying that he was abandoning Trump – that he was “not going to defend Donald Trump – not now, not in the future.”

As Breitbart reports, Ryan made those remarks during a private conference call last October with fellow House Republicans in the wake of the leak of the damning Access Hollywood tape of Trump.

As CNN reports,”The timing of Breitbart’s publication is telling. In recent days, the pro-Trump site has run one negative story after another about the House GOP’s health care bill, despite the president’s endorsement of the legislation.”

This analysis by CNN seems dead on as Breitbart clearly expresses its displeasure with Ryan over the controversial GOP healthcare replacement plan:

Ryan—still the Speaker—has pushed now President Donald Trump to believe his healthcare legislation the American Health Care Act would repeal and replace Obamacare when it does not repeal Obamacare. Ryan has also, according to Trump ally Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), misled President Trump into believing that Ryan’s bill can pass Congress. Paul and others believe the bill is dead on arrival in the U.S. Senate since a number of GOP senators have come out against it, and there are serious questions about whether it can pass the House.

Breitbart goes on to characterize Ryan as a loser who doesn’t seem to understand how to win:

This is the first major initiative that Trump has worked on with Ryan—and the fact it is going so poorly calls into question whether Speaker Ryan, the GOP’s failed 2012 vice presidential nominee who barely supported Trump at all in 2016, really understands how Trump won and how to win in general.
