In the wake of Saturday’s tragic terrorist attack in London, Trump took to Twitter to show the world how he has become our national embarrassment.
NBC News reported late Saturday that “Seven people died and nearly 50 were injured when a terrorist attack unfolded in the heart of the British capital on Saturday night.”
“Officials said a vehicle barreled into pedestrians on London Bridge, and then three attackers embarked on a stabbing rampage at nearby Borough Market,” NBC News continued, adding that: “The National Health Service in England told NBC News that 21 people injured in the attack were in critical condition.”
As has become the custom, Trump took to his Twitter account to prove to the world – once again – that he is unfit for office.
His initial tweet: “We need to be smart, vigilant and tough. We need the courts to give us back our rights. We need the Travel Ban as an extra level of safety!” drew the ire of Londoners such as YouTube personality and author Benedict Townsend who responded: “As a proud Londoner I would invite you to absolutely go f*ck yourself for attempting to capitalise [sp] on our tragedy for your shitty policies.”

As NBC News reports: “London’s mayor defiantly declared that the city is open after a terror attack in the heart of the British capital killed seven people and injured dozens.”
“We are all shocked and angry today, but this is our city,” Sadiq Khan said Sunday, adding: “We will never let these cowards win, and we will never be cowed by terrorism.”
Shortly afterwards, Trump posted two more tweets, one directly addressing the statement by Mayor Khan: “We must stop being politically correct and get down to the business of security for our people. If we don’t get smart it will only get worse” and “At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is ‘no reason to be alarmed!’“
As NBC News reports, a spokesperson for London Mayor Sadiq Khan later said in a statement that:
“The Mayor is busy working with the police, emergency services, and the government to coordinate the response to this horrific and cowardly terrorist attack and provide leadership and reassurance to Londoners and visitors to our city. He has more important things to do than respond to Donald Trump’s ill-informed tweet that deliberately takes out of context his remarks urging Londoners not to be alarmed when they saw more police — including armed officers — on the streets.”

Former U.S. Representative Gabby Giffords, who survived an assassination attempt that left her with a severe brain injury after she was shot in the head in January 2011, weighed in, Tweeting: “Mr. President, every day we are having a gun debate because every day 90 people in our country die from gun violence. Many of them are kids.”

U.S. Democratic Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut posted the following tweet in response to Trump’s tweet attacking London’s mayor: “At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is ‘no reason to be alarmed!'”
My god. @POTUS has no idea that the goal of terrorists is to instill a level of fear in the public disproportionate to the actual threat. https://t.co/IgDA4iaEvP

Beloved activist and Star Trek actor George Takei weighed in on Trump’s remarks about the mayor tweeting: “He said there was no reason to be alarmed by the increased police presence over the next few days, you hare-brained miscreant. Sit down.”

Takei also pointed out that Trump accidentally contradicted one of his key legal arguments regarding his “travel ban.”
Your lawyers JUST argued in federal court that it was not a Travel Ban, it was a "pause." Oops. #DeleteYourAccount pic.twitter.com/L3MtvIJ05B

Noted author J.K. Rowling responded to one of Trump’s tweets, writing: “It’s called ‘leadership’, Donald. The terrorists were dead 8 minutes after police got the call. If we need an alarmist blowhard, we’ll call.” and reposted several tweets, such as the ones below:

They had to use knives and a truck because they couldn't get hold of guns. Imagine the carnage if they had & had returned police fire. https://t.co/1KiDnZzOUk
