Senator John McCain’s daughter responds to a Trump supporter who reportedly yelled “McCain needs to die now.”
As CNN reports, “Sen. John McCain’s daughter shot back at a protester who was reportedly calling for her father’s death.”
Senior Politics Writer for U.S. News & World Report David Catanese posted the following tweet from outside Trump’s Thursday campaign rally in Phoenix:

Meghan McCain responded to the tweet about her father, U.S. Senator John McCain. As the New York Daily News reports, “Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) underwent his first round of radiation and chemotherapy for glioblastoma after the brain tumor was discovered during a cranial surgery to remove a blood clot above his eye.”
“I wouldn’t wish seeing this about your own father on my worst enemy,” she wrote, adding: “May God help these people who inflict such cruelty in the world.”

Chief Washington Correspondent for CNN Jake Tapper quickly replied: “Meghan, every decent person is rooting for your father and your family. Please ignore the haters.”
Meghan responded: “Thank you Jake. 99% of the time I can’t. Every once in a while I still react.”
Responding once again, Tapper tweeted: “I get it — the lack of humanity is astounding. But there are so many more of us feeling the exact opposite for the McCains.”
Turning to Trump, New York Magazine reports that Trump lashed out McCain and fellow Arizona senator Jeff Flake (both Republicans) during his Thursday speech without using their names.
“You know, they all said, Mr. President, your speech was so good last night. Please. Please, Mr. President. Don’t mention any names. So, I won’t. I won’t. No, I won’t. I won’t mention any names. That’s presidential, isn’t it? Very presidential. And nobody wants me to talk about your other senator who is weak on borders, weak on crime. So I will not talk about him. Nobody wants me to talk about him. Nobody knows who the hell he is. And, now — see? I haven’t mentioned any names. So now everybody is happy.”
