Desperate for some sort of win, Trump brags about his pathetic polling figures – prompting the Twitter Burn of the Century.
Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell of California delivered an epic reality check to Trump regarding his recent bragging on Twitter about his polling numbers.
Trump, seemingly desperate for some sort of a win, posted a meme showing him receiving an approval rating of 46% by the notoriously conservative-leaning polling organization Rasmussen Reports early Tuesday morning.
The image was accompanied by the following boisterous text: “One of the most accurate polls last time around. But #FakeNews likes to say we’re in the 30’s. They are wrong. Some people think numbers could be in the 50’s. Together, WE will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

A few hours later, and holding nothing back, Rep. Swalwell delivered the following truth-bomb to Trump:
“In the history of the world, no child has ever posted a flunking report card on the refrigerator. The best poll you can find says 54% of us disapprove of you. This is nothing to be proud of.”

And to be fair, the polling number posted by Trump was accurate – however, looking at the latest figure, it appears that the latest Rasmussen Reports Daily Presidential Tracking Poll may be getting the last laugh.
According to Wednesday’s report (the latest figure posted by Rasmussen}, Trump has fallen one point:
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 45% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. …The latest figures include 29% who Strongly Approve of the way the president is performing and 45% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -16.
And to make matters worse, citing the new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll, Vice reports that Vice President Joe Biden would beat Trump if the 2020 election was held today.
In a Politico/Morning Consult poll conducted from November 9 to 11, 46 percent of voters said they would vote for Biden in 2020, as opposed to 35 percent of voters who said they’d vote for President Trump. Biden’s 11-point margin against Trump is considerable, and it comes at a time when the former vice president is generating a lot of buzz around a possible presidential campaign.
Independent voters also favored Biden, with 41 percent saying they would vote for the former vice president and just 26 percent saying they’d vote for Trump.
But wait – looking at the POLITICO/Morning Consult poll; the news for Trump is even worse:
Biden’s 11-point margin is actually smaller than the poll’s previous question, in which voters are asked whether they will vote to reelect Trump, or for a generic Democrat. The generic Democrat leads Trump, 48 percent to 34 percent, the poll shows.
“Former Vice President Joe Biden has the upper hand in a hypothetical matchup against President Donald Trump, but he underperforms compared with a generic Democrat,” said Kyle Dropp, Morning Consult’s co-founder and chief research officer. “Notably, 86% of Democrats say they would vote for a generic Democrat over Trump, but only 78% of Democrats say they prefer Biden over Trump.”
Liberals Unite would like to offer a hat tip to Rep. Swalwell, Vox and Politico for all the great work they do, day in and day out.
