Evangelical Extremist: Kavanaugh Confirmation Was ‘A Victory of Jesus Christ Over Satan’

The Republican War on Women is rapidly reaching new heights. Donald Trump, who has been accused of sexual assault and bragged about grabbing women’s genitals, made it to the Oval Office, and yesterday, accused rapist Brett Kavanaugh was sworn in as a Supreme Court justice.

Evangelical Christians are doing a happy dance because candidate Trump promised to appoint anti-choice judges and he’s keeping his promise.

One of the more dramatic evangelicals, Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association, last month pledged there would be a “major league spiritual warfare” against the “demons of hell” that were attacking Brett Kavanaugh during his confirmation process. Once Kavanaugh was confirmed, Fischer said on his “Focal Point” radio program that the confirmation is “the victory of Jesus Christ over Satan and the powers of darkness and evil.”

Fischer said, “Saturday was the best day in American politics since World War II. I believe the demons of hell, under Satan’s direction, threw every single piece of weaponry, every single piece of firepower that they had, threw it into the battle to take out Brett Kavanaugh. They wanted him not just defeated, they wanted him destroyed.”

He went on:

“I believe it represented a victory of Jesus Christ over Satan and the powers of darkness and evil in the unseen world. The spiritual warfare that was directed against Judge Kavanaugh, I believe was as intense as anything we have witnessed in the last several decades. It was as if all the demons of hell had been summoned by Satan and ordered to attack this good man in a concerted effort to destroy him. And I believe, thanks to the faithful, committed saints who released the power of God against the powers of darkness through focused and persistent prayer, victory was snatched out of the jaws of defeat.”

This may seem silly because Fischer appears to be on the fringes, but make no mistake, if Democrats don’t win at least the House in November, more men like Fischer won’t only be hosting radio shows, they’ll be writing legislation.
