Artist Sells Artwork Worth $225,000 for $420 on NYC Street

Renowned graffiti artist Banksy sold his original signed artwork, worth tens of thousands for $60 in Central Park last Saturday.

The British artist is on a month-long residency in New York City and set up the pop-up boutique in Central Park last Saturday, using an unknown elderly gentleman to sell his pieces.

According to his website, Better Out Than In:

Yesterday I set up a stall in the park selling 100% authentic original signed Banksy canvases. For $60 each.

Please note: This was a one off. The stall will not be there again today.

During the course of the day, the stall had only three customers, who purchased canvases valued at $225,000 for only $420.

A lady from New Zealand buys two

5:30 pm

A man from Chicago is decorating his new house ‘I just need something for the walls’ he says.

And buys four.
