Monday night, Rep. Peter King joined Piers Morgan to offer his thoughts on Ted Cruz, a politician he described as being a fraud.
Speaking of Cruz and his role in the government shutdown, King stated:
“I lay almost all of it at his feet because he’s the one who started this. Ted Cruz is the one behind it, and I’ve said from the start he was a fraud, because this strategy never had a chance to work, he knew it wasn’t going to work. But he was able to intimidate and influence people to go along with him, saying if we, the House, voted to defund Obamacare and shut down the government that he would take care of it when it got to the Senate. He had no chance of ever doing that. He knew it. this was just a stunt by him, and as a result of that, the country is on the verge of default and the government is shut down.”
When Piers Morgan suggested that Cruz’s strategy we centered on the 2016 presidential campaign, King denounced Cruz as being either a fraud or incompetent:
“The fact is, if you come up with a strategy that’s going to shutdown the government of the United States, and you have no way of winning, you’re either a fraud, or you’re totally incompetent. So he can have his choice as to what he is.”
