Exit Poll: Hillary Beats Christie In NJ In 2016 Matchup For President

Hillary Beats Christie In NJ In 2016 Matchup For PresidentAccording to Tuesday night’s exit polls, if the presidential election were held “today” – Hillary Clinton would beat Chris Christie in his home state of New Jersey.

Those polls show the former First Lady, Senator and Secretary of State leading Gov. Christie by a margin of 48 percent to 44 percent, as reported by MSNBC who also noted that:

“The numbers should not come as much of a surprise, however. New Jersey has been reliably Democratic for presidential candidates for the past 20 years. After all, President Barack Obama carried in 2012 by 17 percentage points, 58 percent to 41 percent.”

A Quinnipiac poll from October 2nd shows the following figures for a matchup between Clinton and leading Republicans:

  • 49 – 36 percent over Christie;
  • 53 – 36 percent over Paul;
  • 54 – 31 percent over Cruz.
