Bacon lovers visiting Atlantic City, New Jersey were in for a treat as the Garden State celebrated “Bacon Week.”
Atlantic City’s Tropicana Casino and Resort hosted the celebration last week with treats such as bacon milkshakes and beer and even bacon-infused vodka. According to press release issued by the resort, “Tropicana Casino & Resort presents the tastiest seven-day festival in town. Guests will discover unique bacon-themed items including bacon cocktails, desserts, and other novelty items Sunday, February 9 to Saturday, February 15, 2014.”

* Bacon Lip Balm, Toothpaste, Dental Floss- LICK
* Smokey Anejo Siembra Azul Margarita w/ brown sugar and bacon rim- Casa Taco & Tequila Bar
* Bacon and bourbon glazed Guinness sundae- RiRa Irish Pub
* Maple bacon apple fritter- Mrs. Fields
* Super 1 pound BLT Sandwich- Seaside Cafe
According to News.Com, “The idea of a bacon festival is not as far-fetched as it might sound. Americans eat about 1.5 billion pounds of bacon a year, according to the National Pork Board. And the website bacontoday.com counted nearly 30 bacon festivals around the country from late April through December 2013, many of whose tickets sold out in minutes.”
