Jon Stewart tore into shameless Republican Senators who blocked a veterans’ benefits bill by attempting to attach Iran sanctions to the bill.
Stewart aptly pointed out that while it is a great shame that the Twitterverse was ablaze with Tweets about John Travolta’s Oscars gaffe, America’s greater shame is the fact that the Senate’s behavior was little more than a footnote in the national media.
As the Daily Show notes: “Senators attempt to attach Iran sanctions to a veteran benefits expansion bill and military sexual assault debates” made “the national Shame-O-Meter go to 11.”
You can watch Stewart’s take on this shameful event in 2 segments, below, from Comedy Central.
