Surprise, surprise. It seems that Kim Jong Un won 100% of the votes with 0% abstaining in Monday’s parliamentary election.
According to the state-run Korea Central News Agency, the win was no-abstention: “As of 18:00 Sunday, all electors registered on the lists of voters went to the polls, except for those on foreign tour or working in oceans, according to a report of the Central Election Committee.”
The agency went on to note in a headline that the Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea was “Seething with Election Atmosphere,” and photos were circulated of soldiers breaking into impromptu dancing in the streets after casting their ballots.
