Bob Dole: Ted Cruz, Rand Paul Not Ready To Be POTUS (VIDEO)

Bob Dole

Bob Dole questions whether “extreme right-wing” candidates like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul can run for president in an interview with The Wichita Eagle.

Asked about possible “Presidential hopefuls for 2016 so far? Can anyone run against Hillary Clinton, if she runs?” Dole responded:

“A number of the younger members, first-termers like Rand Paul, (Marco) Rubio and that extreme-right-wing guy – Ted Cruz? All running for president now.

“I don’t think they’ve got enough experience yet.”

As reported by The Washington Post, at an event on Monday, Dole elaborated stating: “I think they lack experience. So I’m hoping someone will come along who has a lot of good common sense and good values and listens to the people.”

There are only two possible candidates he mentioned favorably on the first day of his tour — former Florida governor Jeb Bush, who he thinks could help win more Hispanic votes; and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, of whom he said, “I don’t think he knew what happened on the bridge.”

Dole also noted at the event that “I thought I was a conservative, but we’ve got some in Congress now who are so far right they’re about to fall out of the Capitol.”
