According to one Republican official in Arkansas, Hillary Clinton shouldn’t bother campaigning in the state due to lack of support in the state.
When asked about Hillary’s chances in Arkansas were she to seek the presidency in 2016, Johnny Rhoda, chairman of the 2nd Congressional District, told U.S. News “She’d probably get shot at the state line.”
When a reporter pointed out that Clinton received considerable support as Arkansas’ First Lady, Rhoda added that “Nobody has any affection for her. The majority don’t.”
Of course, this flies in the face of recent polling as U.S. News reported:
Recent polling has shown the Clinton brand remains durable in Arkansas, even though it’s been more than two decades since former President Bill Clinton served as governor there. Hillary Clinton led every potential Republican challenger except Mike Huckabee – also a former Arkansas governor – in a late April Public Policy Polling survey.
Where does the GOP find these people and what are they chances they can put more of them into key positions. It would certainly make elections more colorful…
