Ted Cruz Gets Smacked Around Over His Asinine Obamacare Post

Cruz-Fail

Tea Party favorite  and Republican presidential hopeful, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), has a habit of setting himself up for some of the best smack downs ever.

The ultra-conservative website Forbes has smacked him around, not once, but two times. The first time was over his lies about Christian persecution in the United States, the second was for his disastrous presidential campaign announcement.

Conservatives and liberals, alike, have slammed him as well. Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) delivered a knockout blow to Ted Cruz back in April for telling lies about him, going so far as enlisting the help of reporters to shame him.

And best of all, Cruz loves making asinine posts on his Facebook page prompting some epic smack downs on his own profile. Yesterday was no exception when he decided to whimper about “judicial activism” and the Supreme Court, whom he characterized as “robed Houdinis,” in the wake of their second decision upholding Obamacare. And as one might expect – as Cruz should have suspected from past butt-burns – he got knocked all over the place by fans and foes alike.

Here are a few of our favorite responses to his asinine Obamacare post to give you an idea. Oh, and if you have the stomach for it, his post links to his press release condemning the SCOTUS ruling in King v. Burwell upholding Obamacare subsidies.

“Ted Cruz cost the U.S. economy $24 Billion (that’s BILLION) in lost revenue and business profits when he made a bogus filibuster over the ACA that resulted in government shut down. Go back to Texas, Ted.”
“A real hypocrite — Twenty minutes into his address announcing his run for the White House, Sen. Ted Cruz made the first concrete promise of his campaign. ‘[I]magine in 2017 a new president signing legislation repealing every word of Obamacare,’ he said. The next day the Texas senator announced he’d be signing up for Obamacare. ‘We’ll be getting new health insurance and we’ll presumably do it through my job with the Senate, and so we’ll be on the federal exchange with millions of others on the federal exchange,’ Cruz said.”
“‘Judicial Activism’ is so lazy. You don’t like the decision. Say that. But there was nothing activist here. The intent of the law was clear. The lawsuit was simply quibbling over 4 words with obvious meaning. It was a ridiculous attempt to sink the law, take healthcare from 6 million plus people, and inadvertently shoot the GOP in the foot in the process. The Supreme Court actually saved the GOP some massive headaches, as well as ruled correctly. It’s win-win, kids.”

“Give it up. The ACA is the law of the land, it’s been ruled on twice by the supreme court, and it’s not going anywhere. And for you to say you are going to repeal it is only showing that you are a liar to all your supporters. It’s like when all those politicians said “vote for me and I will get rid of Roe v Wade” and then it never happened. They were lying then and you are lying now. Hey, all you Cruz supporters, you are being suckered big time!”
“Let me get this right, Ted Cruz is on Obamacare but swears to repeal the very thing he is taking advantage of. Now THAT is a new level of hypocrisy.”
“How about you and your Republicant buddies focus on something productive like, I don’t know, the jobs bills Boehner promised or repairing Brownback complete and total bankruptcy of his state? And quit wasting taxpayer’s money on appeals to Bengahzi trials and Obamacare repeals. Oh that’s right that would mean actually working.”
