Donald Trump Perfectly Trolled By Bette Midler

Bette Midler perfectly described Donald Trump – along with the rest of the GOP – in a recent tweet.

The legendary Hollywood icon Bette Midler took to Twitter last week, perfectly describing Donald Trump with a meme that included a quote from Joseph Heller’s “Catch-22,” which is often cited as one of the greatest literary works of the twentieth century.

The quote from “Catch-22,” “It was miraculous. It was almost no trick at all, he saw, to turn vice into virtue and slander into truth, impotence into abstinence, arrogance into humility, plunder into philanthropy, thievery into honor, blasphemy into wisdom, brutality into patriotism, and sadism into justice. Anybody could do it; it required no brains at all. It merely required no character,” was included “With credit,” by Midler to a popular Tumblr Slaughterhouse 90210, authored by Maris Kreizman.

As The Guardian reports, “Maris Kreizman thinks the divide between high and low culture makes no sense – and she proves it in Slaughterhouse 90210, her perfect pairings of literary quotes with everyone from Donald Trump to Darth Vader.”

Marta Bausells of The Guardian, explains that: “Kreizman, has been exploring how literature and pop culture intersect for over six years on her popular Tumblr… which combines quotes and TV stills – expanding it to include politicians, sport figures and pop stars” in a recently published book, based on Slaughterhouse 90210.

“Many quotes from literature could be used to define Donald Trump, but few would be as exquisitely appropriate as one from Catch-22 about turning ‘vice into virtue, slander into truth, […] thievery into honor, brutality into patriotism, and sadism into justice.’ The intertwining of the magnate’s figure and this Joseph Heller quote is featured in the book,” according to Bausells.

Midler has since posted another meme and several tweets aimed at the bigoted billionaire:
