Michael Flynn’s son went on a Twitter-tirade and managed to incriminate both Trump and Mike Pence in obstruction of justice.
Monday morning, Michael Flynn Jr., the son of Trump’s former national security adviser, launched an unabashed twitter-tirade.
He started the day tweeting: “American Patriot @GenFlynn did not lie to Pence (or anyone else in the admin) about his perfectly legal and appropriate conversations w Russian AMB Kislyak in Dec 2016. Why would a highly decorated military intel officer lie about something legal? Been a MSM lie from day 1”

As CNN swiftly pointed out, this tweet is potentially problematic for Vice President Mike Pence: “So just to be clear, what Flynn Jr. is alleging is that his dad never lied to Vice President Mike Pence (or anyone else!) about his interactions with then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.”
“Flynn Jr. is now saying his father never lied to Pence about his interactions with Kisylak,” CNN continued, adding: “Which, if he is telling the truth, would mean:
- “Pence, who has said he had no knowledge of the conversations Flynn was having with Kisylak and other Russian officials, actually did know.
- “Trump’s reason for firing Flynn doesn’t hold water since the former national security adviser didn’t lie to Pence.
- “Flynn chose to lie to the FBI about his dealings with the Russians during the transition but told the truth to the incoming vice president about those same interactions.”
Continuing, CNN reported that in all likelihood, Flynn Jr. is simply spewing out nonsense, “that Flynn Jr. has a past history of just saying stuff. One example: He was removed from the Trump transition team after he sent a series of tweets fomenting the so-called ‘Pizzagate’ conspiracy.“
Concluding their report, CNN noted that: “if Flynn is willing to say under oath that he in fact never did lie to Pence, then the vice president would have some explaining to do.”
Flynn Jr. responded to the CNN article which was titled “Did Michael Flynn Jr. just reveal something very, very important about the Russia investigation?”
Taking his word for it, it would appear that the administration has difficulty with the English language:
“The answer is no. My father didnt lie. Neither did Pence. W everything going on during the transition, isnt possible that it was a miscommunication btw 2 people that couldve been resolved w/o all the media hoopla? Stop trying to create a story @CNN,” he tweeted.

Former federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti responded directly to Flynn Jr., tweeting: “But when he pleaded guilty, your father admitted under oath that he lied to the FBI about his conversations with Russian Ambassador Kislyak.”
Flynn Jr. put it off on lack of money, tweeting: “Is it not possible he just plead guilty because of the financial burden it created and is creating on our family??”
