Open Carry Tarrant County (OCTC), a group in Texas who can easily be described as bullying gun slingers, paid an unfriendly visit to the office of Poncho Nevárez, a Democratic state representative who serves Texas’ 74th district, in an effort to pressure and intimidate him.

The open carry group supports the bill, HB195, that would remove the requirement to obtain a permit to carry a concealed handgun, and also would permit any Texan who is legally sober to carry a handgun – concealed or openly – everywhere but prisons, amusement parks, churches, sporting events, saloons, hospitals and government meetings.

Kory Watkins, one of the leaders of Open Carry recorded the event. (Video below.)

Poncho Nevárez was warned by one of the gunslingers that they will  “start shopping for somebody that will” vote yes on the bill:

Nevárez: “I don’t want to vote yes. Go shop for him. Hardcore.”

Unknown Gunslinger: Expect the pain (unintelligible).

Jacob Cordova: Do you like the Constitution?

Nevárez: Yeah, I love the Constitution!

Cordova: How about that Second Amendment that says we have the right to bear arms . . .  shall not be infringed?

Nevárez: I do read the Second Amendment!

Cordova: How about shall not be infringed? Shall not — shall not be infringed?

Unknown Gunslinger: Constitutional Carry is coming to Texas!

Nevárez: All right! So is Santa Claus.

Cordova: Shall not be infringed.

Unknown Gunslinger: No, he’s a mythical figure. We’re for real.

Kory Watkins: You need to find a new job, bro. McDonald’s is hiring.

Cordova: Do you take your oath to the Constitution seriously?

Nevárez: I do (unintelligible).

Cordova: As far as I’m concerned, you’re a tyrant to the Constitution of the United States of America.

Nevárez: I’m a tyrant to the Constitution.

Watkins: You won’t be here very long, bro.

Nevárez: I won’t be. You all have a great day.

Nevárez: You all can walk outside now.

Cordova: It’s his office. It’s the PEOPLE’S office!  They voted for you. You work for us!

Cordova: You are a tyrant.

Nevárez: Yeah, I am.

Watkins: Don’t touch me. Don’t touch me…

Nevárez: Get your foot out of my door.

Watkins: What are you gonna do?

The gunslingers were asked to leave and the group members became aggressive, ordering staffers not to touch them. One member appears to have placed his foot in the door as an intimidation tactic.

The disturbing episode prompted lawmakers to call for the installation of panic buttons in offices.

The incident didn’t sit well with Open Carry head, CJ Grisham who posted this to his Facebook page:
