Florida Atlantic University professor James Tracy is suggesting that the Sandy Hook massacre was really a hoax.
Tracy, who is allegedly known for his conspiracy theories, writes in his blog that the school tragedy was an orchestrated event created by the Obama Administration as a ruse to implement gun control. Connecticut officials understandably want the professor to be terminated. It is interesting to note that Florida Atlantic University is supported by The Koch Brothers.
Tracy’s blog presents a chronological presentation of his ‘theory” and in part reads:
“The following timeline of the December 14 mass killing of 20 children and 8 adults in Newtown Connecticut attempts to demonstrate how the event was presented to the public by corporate news media. The chronological assemblage of coverage is not comprehensive of all reports published on the incident but rather seeks to verify how the storyline was to a substantial degree constructed by federal and state law enforcement authorities and major media around the theory that 20-year-old Adam Lanza was the sole agent in the massacre.”
In his blog dated January 1, which was revised on January 4, he writes:
“As documents relating to the Sandy Hook shooting continue to be assessed and interpreted by independent researchers there is a growing awareness that the media coverage of the massacre of 26 children and adults was intended primarily for public consumption to further larger political ends.”
FAU President Mary Jane Saunders blasted Tracy in a statement obtained by FoxNews.com:
“I want to make it clear that those views and opinions are not shared by Florida Atlantic University, and I am personally saddened by any media stories that have added to the pain felt by the victims’ families,”
It was also just announced that a conservative coalition has planned a Gun Appreciation Day scheduled for January 19—less then a month after the school massacre and two days before Inauguration Day.
FOX News recently cropped a speech by Obama in 2008 to falsely suggest that he is “acting hypocritically” in supporting an assault rifle ban. They include his quote; “
So I don’t want any misunderstanding. When ya’ll go home and you’re talking to your buddies, and they say, “He wants to take my gun away,” you’ve heard it here, I’m on television so everybody knows it, I believe in the Second Amendment, I believe in people’s lawful right to bear arms. I will not take your shotgun away, I will not take your rifle away, I won’t take your handgun away.” But Fox edited out the part where Obama adds, “There are some common-sense gun safety laws that I believe in. But I am not going to take your guns away. So if you want to find an excuse not to vote for me, don’t use that one.” Media Matters reported, “President Obama said during the 2008 campaign that while he supported the rights of individuals to own shotguns, rifles, and handguns, he also supported permanently reinstituting the ban on assault weapons that lapsed during the Bush administration.”
The gun issue has sparked heated debate from every side.
It’s a very sad commentary that in the wake of this horrible and unthinkable shooting, some Americans are using the tragedy to foment fear and hatred rather than coming together to find a way to solve America’s gun problem.
