Anti feminist Suzanne Venker wrote an article for Fox “News” titled “To Be Happy, We Must Admit Women and Men Aren’t Equal,” to promote her book about how women should basically shut the hell up about equality, surrender and be complicit.

Here’s the irony: without realizing it, the picture used to promote the article was of two lesbian brides kissing. Proof that God is a woman with a sense of humor. The picture has since been changed and replaced with a new one.

The exquisite irony is that Venker is really a feminist who utilizes and enjoys all the freedoms and opportunities that have been provided by women who came before her. They fought and won so she can vote and earn money from the platform she currently enjoys—promoting inaccurate claims about feminism.

Venker’s argument that women and men shouldn’t be equal is simply ridiculous and she doesn’t really seem to understand what she means. She is confusing ‘equal’ with being the same.

Suzanne,

I don’t want to be a man. I don’t want a penis. I am perfectly happy with my vagina and breasts. I like wearing skirts and dangly earrings. I love make-up and perfume and I like it when a man opens a door for me. More importantly, I love it when a man respects women and sees them as equals. Not better, not worse, not more, not less.

No one is suggesting women are plotting to or want to become men. No one is saying that. No. One. No one, other than you.

Here’s what we ARE saying. We want to be recognized as equal in the United States Constitution. We want a guarantee of fair and equal pay. We want to get up to speed with countries like Italy and France, where women have been equal for decades. Being equal doesn’t mean being the same.

I realize you will not all of a sudden “get it” because you base your entire message on a falsehood. Change it, and you risk losing the income and your platform—a platform provided to you because of women who came before you and fought for it, went to prison for it and endured violence for it.

In the 70s, your Aunt, Phyllis Schlafly, worked very hard to prevent the Equal Rights Amendment from being ratified. She succeeded. Her efforts to scare women into thinking equality is a bad thing worked. She warned that restrooms would become unisex. She frightened a lot of women with the argument that the E.R.A. would mean women would be drafted. Well, guess what? They can be now, so don’t you think a woman should be guaranteed the same wages for putting her life on the line, fighting for your freedom? I do.

But I digress.

It is rather funny that no one at Fox “News” realized they picked a beautiful picture of lesbian brides to promote your anti-feminist message. As you continue to promote misinformation, I will be here to counter and mock you when the occasion presents itself.
