Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Mark Fiore delivers hard-hitting and fun political animation featuring “ALEC,” who explains how big corporations and politicians collude to create self-serving legislation that steamrolls democracy and freedom.
ALEC, the American Legislative Exchange Council, is a 501 American organization composed of legislators, businesses and foundations which produces model legislation for state legislatures such as the award winning “Stand Your Ground Laws” in half the states – laws which are responsible for incidents such as the Trayvon Martin murder in Florida. They also created most of the voter suppression laws circulating the two years preceeding the last election. Currently, ALEC is leading the war against raising minimum wage.
