Illinois GOP Chairman Calls Republican Candidate Erika Harold A ‘Streetwalker’

aarom3Montgomery County GOP Chairman Jim Allen called a black female congressional candidate the “love child” of the Democratic Party, a “street walker” whose “pimps” are party leaders, and suggested that after the election, she will be “working for some law firm that needs to meet their quota for minority hires.”

The candidate he is referring to? Erika Harold, a Republican.  She is the former Miss America and a Harvard Law graduate.

Allen, who is a supporter of incumbent U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis [R-Taylorville], whom Harold is challenging for the GOP nomination next year, wrote the vile comments in an email to a Republican website, RepublicanNewsWatch. An independent site by conservative Republicans who criticize moderate members of the GOP.

The email is in response to a column on the site calling Harold’s candidacy a breath of fresh air for the party.

Allen disagreed:

“Rodney Davis will win and the love child of the D.N.C. will be back in S—cago [Expletive deleted] by May of 2014 working for some law firm that needs to meet their quota for minority hires,” Allen wrote in the email. “ . . . Miss queen is being used like a street walker and her pimps are the DEMOCRAT PARTY and RINO REPUBLICANS.”

The operator of the website, Chicago attorney and former state GOP General Counsel Doug Ibendahl, ran Allen’s letter on the site, along with a note:

“To understand why the Illinois Republican Party keeps losing elections – look no further than the racist rant (copied below) from a GOP party official. ”

He calls the letter “trash” and refers to Allen as “a member of Rodney Davis’ Team 2014.

“Outrageous comments like those of Jim Allen are why we as Republicans fail to gain any respect from minority voters,” said Doug Ibendal, Editor-In-Chief of Republican News Watch. ”If officials in my party (the Republican Party) fail to understand how destructive it is to attack an impressive person like Erika Harold merely because she dares to challenge the good-old-boys, the GOP will remain a losing party for decades. This stay-in-the-back-of-the-bus mentality destroys any hope the Republican Party has for regaining momentum in future elections.”

Allen’s name was removed from the list of supporters on a Davis Campaign website after the Post-Dispatch questioned Davis’ office about the comments.

Davis’ office responded to Allen’s infantile comments:

“Mr. Allen’s comments are misguided and wrong and certainly do not reflect the views of Congressman Davis or his campaign,” Davis spokesman Andrew Flach said in an emailed statement. “Our hope is that supporters for all of the candidates conduct themselves in a positive manner and focus on the issues facing our country as the campaign moves forward.”

Huffington Post reports that Jim Allen resigned after his racially charged attack on Harold.

A question to the women of the GOP/Tea Party:  How the hell can you accept this from your OWN party? I mean, I understand that Sandra Fluke is liberal and therefore easier to dismiss, but this woman is a REPUBLICAN.

The fact that this man is referring to her as a streetwalker says it all. This is what the Republican Party REALLY thinks about women.

Maybe if she were white, uneducated and quit halfway through her term as governor, she would be loved and embraced, or at the very least, used to show everyone that the Old White Man party really does like the ladies.
