When FOX And Friends asked Laura Ingraham what she thought about the Obama administration’s decision to end age restrictions on Plan B, making it over-the-counter, Ingraham had this to say:
“Yeah well, it’s a good deal for pedophiles, good deal for people who commit statutory rape against young girls…. We don’t really know the long term effect of a spiking or dropping a young woman’s or a little girl’s hormonal levels.”
If Ingraham took time to do some research, she would find that medical experts have asserted that arbitrary age limits on Plan B have no basis in scientific research.
Several OBGYNs weighed in on the subject and this is what Owen Montgomery, MD, of Drexel University in Philadelphia had to say:
“I would much rather have a 13- to 14-year-old girl who needs emergency contraception have access to it than come to my office with an unwanted pregnancy.”
