Kimberly Kidwell, a 31-year-old EMT married Katie Short across the street from the gay-hating Westboro Baptist “Church.” The ceremony took place at the rainbow-painted Equality House in Topeka Kansas.
The God-Hates-Fags crew was forced to witness the lesbian couple say their “I dos,” just 50 feet from their house of bigotry.
BRILLIANT!
The couple had planned on waiting until marriage was legal in Kansas, but when they saw that Aaron Jackson, one of the founders of Equality House, had posted on Facebook that he was looking for a gay couple to get married, the women jumped on the offer. In lieu of gifts, the couple asked for donations to a Planting Peace marriage equality fundraiser.
In an effort to raise awareness on the issue, the women were married by an ordained Baptist minister, who is also a lesbian.
Approximately 100 guests were in attendance.
Ha ha haters.
I hope Kimberly and Katie have a long, happy and loving union.
