Dear Republicans,
Recently, while on the Senate floor, Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) expressed concern about the United States interfering with foreign negotiations. I believe he used the word “worrisome’ to describe State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki’s statement to reporters that when it comes to the U.S. policy towards Israel, “We’re currently evaluating our approach.”
Worrisome? Huh? What?
He then said:
While Prime Minister Netanyahu won a decisive victory, he still has just started assembling a governing majority coalition. These kinds of quotes from Israel’s most important ally could very well startle some of the smaller parties and their leaders with whom Prime Minister Netanyahu is currently in negotiations.
“This raises the question, of course, if the administration intends to undermine Prime Minister Netanyahu’s efforts to assemble a coalition by suggesting a change to our longstanding policy of supporting Israel’s position with the United Nations.”
He made this statement after “writing” the famous Republican sabotage fiasco letter – the Open Letter to Iran (signed by 46 other Senate Republicans) – which by his own admission, was written to target international diplomacy, undermine American foreign policy, and disrupt officials during their ongoing negotiations.
Is he on crack or some other kind of drug that might cause erratic and/or brain malfunction? I’m not trying to be funny or sarcastic. I ask in all sincerity.
If you are one of Cotton’s Republican friends or colleagues and are reading this, please get him to a neurosurgeon immediately.
It would be easy to call him a hypocrite and be done with it, but his words and actions display some kind of mental deterioration or malfunction that requires urgent medical attention. Synapses are not firing properly or something. If I were his wife or family member, I would be seriously concerned. Something appears to be very wrong.
If these comments are not a result of a brain disorder or heavy drug use, and in fact is a GOP strategy to literally appear insane, then please proceed.
Clearly, Republicans as a whole have gone so far over the edge of reason and sanity that you are undoubtedly feeling the imminent demise of the party, even though you may not reconize that feeling for what it is. You are scrambling like cockroaches in a kitchen when the light is turned on and you are exhibiting much of the same disorganzation and confusion.
Since you control Congress – right now – we all know damage will be done. I should clarify: more damage then you’ve already caused will be done. There’s only so much the rest of us can do do. Your party is an out-of control freight train barreling into the side of a mountain. The whole world recognizes this. The whole world can see that you are behaving like spoiled children throwing a raging temper tantrum because they don’t want to eat their green beans.
So, back to Cotton. Seriously, somebody needs to check him into a mental health facility STAT and get his brain checked out. While I vehemently disagree with GOP politics, my empathy and concern for Cotton as a human being trumps differing ideology.
“Come on now, who do you, who do you, who do you, who do you think you are,
Ha ha ha bless your soul
You really think you’re in control?”
Sincerely,
