Feminist icon Gloria Steinem pulled no punches when she decided to address Carly Fiorina in a wildly popular Facebook post last Friday.
Steinem wrote:
“Trump’s greatest damage to women was to raise sympathy for Carly Fiorina by attacking her appearance. What she said about Planned Parenthood was a 100% lie — as fact-checkers have pointed out — and she accused Hillary Clinton of lying when she was in fact telling the truth. If you thought Republicans could find no woman more damaging to the diversity and needs of the female half of this country than Sarah Palin, take a good look at Carly Fiorina and what she stands for.”
Politifact rated Fiorina’s statement, that the Planned Parenthood videos show “a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking, while someone says we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain,” as “mostly false.”
Fiorina is not likely to not admit she was wrong – because she knows her base isn’t fond of the truth. Besides, telling big, bold-face lies takes some of the spotlight off her opponent and GOP front-runner, Donald Trump.
