A great many United States politicians should take a lesson from Iain.

The holiday season is upon us and if you’re a political junkie like me, you’re probably sick and tired of all the angry words, name-calling and crazy theatrics coming from presidential candidates and congressional representatives. If so, I have a special treat for you.

Iain, from Iain Loves Theatre, is totally awesome. He’s a 7-year-old boy from Virginia who records himself giving reviews to different theater performances, and in this video he reviews West Side Story. A great many United States politicians, as well as voters, could stand to learn from his heartfelt perception, wisdom and compassion.

He explains that the play took place in the 1950s and that, “People believed it was SHOCKING for two different religions, two different cultures, two different races to be hanging out together…” He goes to say that sadly, there are people who still think this way.

Seriously, this kid is so cute and insightful, you have to watch his delivery.

From his Facebook page: “When reviewing a show, Iain prefers to focus on the positive, and this has led people to ask if he has ever seen a show he doesn’t like. There are definitely shows he prefers over others, but he is always so happy and excited to go to the theatre! There’s a bumper sticker that says, “A bad day fishing is better than a great day at the office” and that pretty much sums up how Iain feels about the theatre. Even if he sees a show that isn’t his favorite, he would rather be in the theatre than just about anywhere else.”

Now that I’ve discovered Iain’s Facebook and Twitter pages and YouTube channel, I’m hooked! He is adorable, delightful and very wise for his years. And OMG, the bow-tie. How cute is his bow-tie!?!?
