Popular Conservative Site Declares GOP Is Dead, Calls For New Third Party Leader

RIP Republican Party.

The ultra-conservative site Red State’s Susan Wright penned a blog post announcing the Republican Party is dead, and it’s now time to form a third party.

She presented her argument and offered up her choice for the new leader.

Wright is a self-proclaimed “firm and ardent supporter” of former Texas Republican Gov. Rick Perry. She said that since he announced his bid for the White House in 2011, “I have been immovable in my belief that no other politician in the public eye is as uniquely gifted to the role of leadership as Governor Perry.”

That should be enough information to understand the kind of mind we’re dealing with.

Her post starts off with quotes from the Founding Fathers, chock-full of the obligatory patriotic language needed to rile up the base: “shores of virtue,” “noble past,” and “glory of the new world,” etc…

After declaring that Democrats have played the game masterfully and have already won, she digs in her heels and presents the case for Perry to lead, citing Donald Trump as the final straw. She explained that Perry coined the phrase “Trumpism” back in 2015:

“He offers a barking carnival act that can be best described as Trumpism: a toxic mix of demagoguery, mean-spiritedness and nonsense that will lead the Republican Party to perdition if pursued.

Let no one be mistaken – Donald Trump’s candidacy is a cancer on conservatism, and it must be clearly diagnosed, excised and discarded.

It cannot be pacified or ignored, for it will destroy a set of principles that has lifted more people out of poverty than any force in the history of the civilized world – the cause of conservatism.”

Wright then wrote the funniest line in her post:

“Principles. Rick Perry has them.”

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. ROFLMAO.

She continues with:

“An interesting turn of events,” when “the Texas Tribune reported that while Perry showed up in person to pick up an absentee ballot for the March 1 Texas Republican primary, the Fayette County Board of Elections, where he is registered, never received the ballot.

Perry, who endorsed Ted Cruz and was actively campaigning with him, insists that he mailed the ballot in, but apparently, it was lost in the mail. Call it fate. Call it random chance, but whatever you call it, by his lack of a vote in the primary, he was made eligible to run as a third party candidate.”

Her post ends with a pertinent quote from (liberal) Republican, Abraham Lincoln:
“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”

Rick Perry and the other lunatics like him, who’ve been the modern “leaders” of the GOP, are THE REASON Trump is now the face of your outdated, sexist, racist, bigoted party.

Thanks for the laugh, Susan. I needed it in this tense primary season. Good luck. You’ll need it.
