On his last day as president elect, Trump told voters, “I promise you that I will work so hard. We’re gonna get it turned around.”
Turns out he was full of shit. Surprise!
It seems as if Donald Trump has been POTUS forever and a day, but the reality is he’s only been the president for five weeks. Depending on what side of the political fence you’re on, it’s debatable whether or not he’s accomplished anything substantive. However, there’s one thing that isn’t up for debate: Trump spends more time golfing than he does at intelligence briefings, and more than half of his time in office has been filled with “non-work” time.
The Washington Post broke down Trump’s time in the White House since he was inaugurated on January 20, 2017. The Post acknowledges their methodology isn’t perfect, but there are some indisputable truths – and there’s even a colorful graph!
In his first 744 hours, Trump spent:
- 6 hours at intelligence briefings.
- 13 hours tweeting.
- 25 hours golfing.
The most staggering number comes in the form of non-work time and it’s broken down into two categories:
- 293 hours of non-work time in the White House and the broader D.C. Area.
- 106 hours of non-work time spent vacationing in Florida/Mara Largo.
Trump's 1st month in office includes:
Golf—25 hrs
Foreign relations—21 hrs
Tweeting—13 hrs
Intel briefings—6 hrshttps://t.co/eHjLns62KU pic.twitter.com/j8UG746BQw— Kyle Griffin (@kylegriffin1) February 22, 2017
He’s sure has some nerve, doesn’t he? Look at one of Don the Con’s tweets from 2014:
Can you believe that, with all of the problems and difficulties facing the U.S., President Obama spent the day playing golf.Worse than Carter
