The Mirror is reporting that “heart-throb” George Clooney plans to launch his new career in politics after he marries British lawyer Amal Alamuddin, 36, in September.
George already counts President Obama as a friend and is a committed political activist.
Now he is looking to take on a more official role, and could even run for office.
A pal said: “He has big ambitions and aims to get into politics imminently.
“He wants to do more humanitarian work and hopes to join the Democrats’ 2016 election campaign.”
As a political blogger, I occasionally run across stories that make me giddy and dance a jig. Not only am I thrilled that this one involves George Clooney possibly entering the political arena, I love how the conservative media sites are reporting it.
Breitbart had this to say:
“With his movie career fading into commercial and critical mediocrity and a wedding in sight, 53 year-old left-wing Democrat George Clooney is apparently ready to try politics. The Mirror reports that Clooney’s lovely fiancée, British attorney Amal Alamuddin, has convinced Clooney to launch a career in politics after their wedding. Apparently, this career-switch will begin in earnest during the 2016 election.”
Chicks On The Right weighed in with:
“He will be a SHOE-IN for Democrats, and I’m positive he’ll have a successful career as a Democrat politician, because he was on Facts of Life and Oceans Eleven, y’all. HELLO.”
This is where I must note that conservatives like the Chicks seem to forget how they fawn over the memory of their favorite actor president, Ronald Reagan. Because working with a monkey makes for a successful career as a Republican, y’all. HELLO.
President Clooney. Kinda has a nice ring to it.
