The Supreme Court has upheld Obama’s national healthcare law. In an interesting turn the Supreme Court ruled that Obamacare could not be upheld under the Commerce Clause to the U.S. Constitution, the Obama administration’s main legal argument. However, the Supreme Court upheld Obamacare stating that the mandate penalty was a form of taxation and that Congress has the ability to tax its citizens. Again, the Supreme Court upholds Obamacare with Chief Justice Roberts supporting the new national health care plan and writing the majority opinion.
