The radical right loves to twist and distort reality. They desperately try to use guilt and shame as a way to force their unwanted agenda on the rest of us. One pathetic attempt to shame those who believe in the right to choose is by saying we are “pro-abortion.”
Todd Cefaratti of the Tea Party News Network (TPNN) wrote a piece on a political ad by Senator Mark Udall (D-CO) titled, Wait Until You See this Democrat’s DISGUSTING Pro-Abortion Campaign Ad.
Cefaratti says:
“When it comes to the left’s commitment to abortion, I am constantly shocked by the lows they will go to try and normalize a heinous practice. They dress up the murders of babies with coy phrases like “pro-choice”- as if those who oppose murdering babies are, somehow, ‘anti-choice.’
“Now, in order to get re-elected, Colorado Democrat Senator Mark Udall is not only criticizing his opponent’s stance on abortion, but is even using a little girl in an ad to promote his pro-abortion agenda.”
First of all, Mr. Cefaratti, you and others like you, love to invoke the image of evil liberals murdering fully formed babies. That is not factual – it is a picture painted to inflame mindless anger. A fetus is NOT a fully formed human being.
And yes Cefaratti, you ARE anti-choice. Because you want to take that choice away from women, and you refuse address the deaths that WILL occur from unsafe, illegal abortions.
If you think about it, the ‘pro-life’ crowd isn’t really pro-life. They don’t seem to care if fully formed human beings die because a right-wing governor refuses to take free money from the government to cover Medicaid expenses. FREE MONEY is turned down because they prefer to stomp their feet and pout rather than make sure their constituents get health care (not to mention the jobs that would be created in the health care field if they took the federal Medicaid funding). Where’s all the right-wing outrage about that? There is none because they are not pro-life – no matter how many times they say they are.
The ‘pro-life’ crowd doesn’t care if poor fully formed human beings starve and possibly die from lack of proper nutrition – because they are so wrapped up in the idea that providing basic human necessities is a Communist plot. They support cutting food stamps programs that affect poor families and their children, not to mention our veterans. Seems the only commitment they make to show their support for veterans is slapping a Support Our Troops sticker on their bumpers or posting a meme on Facebook. But when it comes to actually helping, them, well, they vote to cut benefits.
The ‘pro-life’ crowd is not interested in reality. They live in a bubble on Bullshit Mountain and stare down at the rest of us while they sin in secret and shout condescending, nonsensical blather from their high horses.
The idea that anyone is pro-abortion is ridiculous. Yes, many people are for the CHOICE TO TERMINATE A PREGNANCY. But that is not the same as being excited or happy about it.
It is a private decision by a woman and her doctor, and no matter what her reasons may be to have an abortion, it is NONE IF YOUR BUSINESS. It is certainly not the business of some judgmental puritan politician.
If you were to believe the radical right, you might think that pro-choice women have abortion parties. You might believe that women who believe in choice are terrible people who can’t have an abortion fast enough. And that we rub our hands together in anticipation.
Abortion is a very private and often difficult decision to make.
For those who wish to shame anyone for believing that the right to choose is some kind of twisted celebration, we can explain it to you – and we have tried – but we can’t understand it for you.
