Ted Cruz announced he’s running for President on Twitter. The games have officially begun and I decided to take a look at my favorite conservative page to see what every day Tea Party folks have to say about it.
Are they happy? Do they think Cruz has a shot?
Since these are Facebook comments, I can’t say that each and every comment is from a Tea Party “patriot”, however it’s still fun to read the varied reactions:
Many are questioning his eligibility and one of the commenters provided this link titled On the Meaning of “Natural Born Citizen” from Harvard Law Review:
“But as Congress has recognized since the Founding, a person born abroad to a U.S. citizen parent is generally a U.S. citizen from birth with no need for naturalization. And the phrase “natural born Citizen” in the Constitution encompasses all such citizens from birth.”
Here’s a small sampling of the many Facebook comments:
Rob: LOVE Cruz. best conservative candidate since Reagan
Ernest: Walker/cruz combo, unbeatable
Sethie: THE anti-Christ is in the white house now get a life and look at the mess this country is in god has been taken out of everything!!!!
Leta: This will not work.
Kristen: He does not have a chance. We need a candidate who is ELECTABLE in the general election.
Kerry: Right now, Cruz is the only Republican I would vote for.
Joe: And cue the Leftist “Birthers” in 5…..4….3. ….
Terry: The pseudo elitist liberal garbage bags are going nuts over Cruz’s announcement…run for cover as heads explode…truth and integrity don’t work out too well in the liberal playbook…
Lila: Yay! The right picks another Dem in disguise, wonderful. Enjoy your Common Core.
Pete: Hillary’s waiting to throw her scarf in the ring also. she’s waiting for further instructions from monica lewinski.
Stephen: Liberals are afraid of him. The Republican Party does not like him because is not a follower like the rest of those idiots we put in office and ignored what they promised us.
Gary: Great, another Lawyer born in a foreign land with a non American citizen Father. The one we have now has served us SO well…
Eleridge: One of things I do like about him is that describes himself as a “Conservative” and not as a Republican. Better than all them RINOs in the Senate.
Ernie: Not happy about it as we have better options and he can’t win a National election.
Joe: and he will have a field day ripping them apart for their , criminal actions.. and most of the repub. that will run are not really republican,, they are liberals posing as republicans, like Jeb Bush .. and maybe the governor of New Jersey.. all are liberals.. but then the republicans are noted as picking the wrong man most of the time.

For fun, I asked my Facebook friends which song Cruz should use for his campaign. My two favorite suggestions were The Adam’s Family theme song and my very favorite was the Benny Hill theme song!
